Trip to the Park

In an effort to exercise more, Jim and I took JJ to a nearby park the other day, and I took my new camera along too. Even though it is getting colder, Charlotte is so lovely this time of year. Crisp, cool, sunny, brisk. We've had a few rainy days, but for the most part, I am a fan of winter down south!

This was a brisk day, so we bundled JJ up and headed down the Greenway (a park that is a walking path through town), to nearby Cordelia Park. This will be where we take JJ to go swimming during the summer. There are basketball courts, large open fields, 2 playgrounds, an overlook with benches, a swimming pool and water park. We are lucky to be so close to such a great place (and it is less than a half mile walk to Amelie's French Bakery, though I suppose this negates our efforts to exercise).

Here's JJ in his hat that Auntie Ib knitted for him before he was born. So cute! Gah!!

Cutest picture ever? Quite possibly!

A different kind of golden arches

Here comes JJ!

And closer...

And closer...

Too close! (smooshed face)

Mommy loves the slide!

Love this man!

Upon exploring the "big kids" playground, I stumbled on this guy...

Since JJ was sleeping...

I got on!

And was in love!

Who among us has ridden a dinosaur?

Since JJ was still pretty happy...

Jim decided to test his balance!

Look at that wingspan!

And celebrating his fancy dismount! There was a twist involved...

What a great day we had! Still loving my new camera! I can definitely tell the difference between these pics and the ones from my iPhone. Now JJ will have some "real" pictures of his childhood!
