Merry Christmas Eve, Eve!

JJ, Jim, and I have enjoyed some pretty slow days around the house lately. Jim had off on Thursday and today, which was totally awesome! (Thank you, OtherScreen!) On Wednesday, we drove with Jim's family through the light display up at Charlotte Motor Speedway. It was great! The best part was definitely driving on the actual track that the Nascar drivers speed down (we were going much slower, of course), but I was definitely struggling to stay in my seat, the track is so steeply banked. The lights were pretty fun, and the Van Fleets definitely made a fun trip of it with beer, snacks, and Wendy's drive thru for the passengers.

That night I woke up with hives from head to toe, and a particularly swollen eye. I called the nurse's number from our insurance, and she told me to go to the Emergency room, but because I took some Benadryl, I was too tired to go. Luckily, my throat didn't close while I was sleeping, and I woke up in pretty good shape. I still don't know what caused it, though, and hopefully won't ever encounter it again!

And tonight we went to one of our favorite places, Carlos Cafe in Rock Hill, SC. If you're ever in the area and like Cuban food, this is the place for you!

And now, some cute pictures of JJ around the house. The first set is of us playing around the tree, and some details of our nativity scene (that was my Grandmother's--along with some additions from JJ's farm animal toys). The second is him escaping to his favorite room in the house, his bathroom. Seriously, I think JJ would sleep standing next to the tub, if he could.)

Turtle bottom!

I wish this one wasn't fuzzy, but I just think it's the cutest little pose!

And a cute face!

And a...not so cute face!

And my Grandmother's set contained the ever popular Christmas deer...What? The horse and pig were ours when we were little.

JJ's first Christmas Ornament!

At church we all wrote messages of hope on the back of ornaments, put them in a basket, and chose someone else's. This was the one received, and I love it!

Puppy bottom!

Merry Christmas Eve, Eve, to all!
